FIRM OVERVIEW

Since 1991 J. Paul Frye, Attorney at Law has been engaged in the general civil practice of law at 5571 Highway 11E in Piney Flats, Tennessee, providing legal services to the public in the practice areas of personal injuries, automobile accidents, slip and fall, wrongful death, divorce, family law, child custody, child support, business law, property disputes, deeds, wills, estates and governmental law.

Paul started his legal career in 1984 as clerk to Tenessee's Attorney General William M. Leech, Jr., after passing the bar in 1985 he became an associate of Earl R. Hendry in Bluff City Tenessee. One year later the partnership of Hendry and Frye was formed with offices in Bluff City, Blountville, and Roan Mountain, Tenessee. In 1991 he formed his own law firm at his present location in Piney Flats, Tenessee. He was appointed County Attorney for Sullivan County in 1994 and was appointed City Attorney for Bluff City, Tennessee in 1995 in which capacity he has served for over 25 years being the longest-serving City Attorney for Bluff City's history. During his tenure as City Attorney, he was active in the Tennessee Municipal Attorneys Association serving on their Board of Directors. From 1989  to 1993 he served as an adjunct professor of Business Law at Northeast State. Since 1997 Paul has been a general civil mediator listed by the Tennessee Supreme Court and a Mediator and Arbitrator for the United States District Court Federal Mediation and Arbitration Program for the eastern district of Tennessee.

Throughout his career, Paul has been involved in his community as well as the legal community serving in various capacities including Chairman of the Bristol Tennessee Bar Association Fee Dispute Committee, District One Hearing Panel Member Tennessee Board of Professional Responsibility, Milligan College Advisory Committee, President Of The Bristol Bar Association, Kingsport Bar Association, a former member of Rotary International, Board of Directors Northeast Tennessee Young Lawyers Association, member of the Industrial Board of Sullivan County,  President of the Board of Trustees Rocky Mount Historical Association, Federal Bar Association, former member Sullivan County Lions Club, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Rural Health Services Consortium, Inc., member of Kettlefoot Rod and Gun Club, American Trial Lawyers Association, Tennessee Trial Lawyers Association, member of Masonic Lodge Scottish Rite, York Rite and the Nobles of the Mystic Shrine and former member of Eastern Star. Paul has been listed in Who's who Among Business Professionals and Who's who in American Law. He is the Chairman of the Administrative Council of Piney Flats United Methodist Church and is a certified Lay Speaker in the United Methodist Church.
